Fall Semester of 2012

The most trying time of my life with 20 classes at school and 3 masters' classes

Creative "I" Paper

Erin Brockovich Essay

CEP816: Technology, teaching, and learning across the curriculum

Instructor: Rand Spiro

The course involved a great deal of brainstorming and predicting future technological approaches to higher education. The class is not yet finished for me, as I am waiting to begin co-authoring my part of a paper on the future use of technology in educational settings. Additionally, the class required a lot of group interaction and synthesizing information from each others' ideas.

CEP818: Creativity in Teaching and Learning

Instructor: Punya Mishra

This course was designed around the book Sparks of Genius: The thirteen thinking tools of the world's most creative people. The task was to create something unique, for which I chose to design a creativity curriculum for Chinese senior students going abroad. It was a tremendous amount of work, that in the long run will benefit me greatly, as I have already starting using this curriculum in my classes. Additionally, we were required to write a final journal, and write one summative paper, known as the Creative "I" paper that put all of our thoughts down in document. The creative "I" paper can be found on the left of this page, and the entire creativity curriculum can be read on the showcase page. Overall, I had an amazing experience with the project.

EAD860: Concepts of a Learning Society

Instructor: Riyad Shahjahan

This course was designed around four modules that each required a main book, with many supplemental readings. Additionally, two of the modules were individual, while the other two were group work. The course explored different elements of a learning society, both formal and informal. The Erin Brockovich essay on the right is based on the movie and other supplemental readings, and is an excellent example of an informal individual learning method. It also explored the new aspects of digital learning society, and online learning. On the showcase page, there is a link to a webpage with accompanying explanation of an online learning society. This was a group project, based around the book Hamlett's Blackberry.
